A lot of detail spent in the flowers, which I like. There's a slight discord between the upper body and the lower body, though.
I like the composition and the color choices so far! Can't wait to see it finished! :D
Yes, I love the composition so far as well! :D Can't wait to see it finished!
I almost wonder if there's too much detail with the flowers? They're certainly visually strong, and I wonder if it will overpower the rest of the piece. Maybe that will be more clear once the color gets further along. Just my two cents though.
(Whooo haven't been on here in a while~ cracks knuckles)
The colors are looking fantastic! I always have difficulty with color, so I'm always impressed by people who do so well.
I think that my issue with the flowers is that it makes it seem like you're hiding her hands as to not draw them. Her arms are clearly going straight down, so I feel that where the bouquet should be bunched should be lower, closer to the hands, OR we can see part of her hands (since the thinner part of the bouquet is around it), OR see the inner bend of the elbow (the flowers are overlapping it) so that it gives the notion that her arms are more curved inward, away from the viewer (if that makes sense) and it looks "more right", so to speak.
It doesn't help that the flowers are so detailed, so my eyes keep looking at that general area - and there's a slight (what my old prof. would call) "awkward tangent" between the bouquet and the frame, where it's not quite touching, but there's not enough breathing room either (she has quite a bit of space behind her). Don't be hesitant to draw some flowers overflowing and behind the frame, I think that would look nice or maybe shift her more to the right.
