Sketch, Composition

I drew each Strawhat on paper and scanned them in, I then adjusted each image for the best composition in each button.

Lineart

Then comes the lineart, so much lineart.

Color

Then I start the coloring process, again I put the flats down first then I start shading on the same layers so unfortunately this is how I have to show my process.

Color

All the strawhats are now colored and ready for their backgrounds and details. As you can see, I favour a cel-shade style of drawing with some gradient and soft shade mixed in. This piece has less gradient in it than some of my other pieces however because I wanted to keep the cel-shaded look more.

Color, Details

A detailed shot of Zoro, I went in and painted in his main scars but also added a few around since I feel he would have smaller ones littered around his skin.

Color, Details

I went in and made Nami's treasure map by hand and tried to make it feel older.

Color, Details

I'm actually proud of the metal shine I gave Franky and I also gave him kind of a freckled shine for his hair piece to make it more chrome.

Color, Details

For the backgrounds I also did things by hand, I actually looked up how the Poneglyphs in the show really looked and replicated them in Robin's piece because I am really into detail.

Color, Complete

And here are the buttons complete and how they appear in my store. I made each background to match the personality and style of each of the characters and I am very proud of how they all came out.
